THE PAIR PRIORITISE TIME TOGETHER AS THEY APPROACH A MILESTONE

It isn’t easy keeping love alive with the added pressures of being in the public eye. But this year will see Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds buck the trend as they happily celebrate a decade of wedded bliss. “We’ve been together for nearly 10 years,” the Deadpool actor, 45, recently said on the SmartLess podcast. “That’s like, 35 years in Hollywood terms,” he quipped.

The couple met on the set of their 2011 flick Green Lantern. At the time, Reynolds was still married to his ex-wife Scarlett Johansson, 37, while Lively was dating her Gossip Girl love interest, Penn Badgley, 35.

A firm foundation of friendship was formed in the first “year and a half” while they were just “buddies”. “That was the biggest thing to me,” Lively, 34, told Marie Claire magazine. “I had never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him,” she explained.

When they did get together, things moved quickly. It was just a week after their first date that Reynolds suggested buying a house together. “[It was] sort of like out of a fairytale,” he said.
