For weeks, Sheila mourned the loss of Finn in silence - and particularly since she never got the chance to say good-bye to her son, who she "killed" by accident, she longed for a visit with her grandson, Hayes. That was the bait that was needed as Steffy, Ridge, and Taylor conspired to expose Sheila for what she'd done. Sheila was elated when she got the call from Taylor, asking her to swing by. Ridge and Taylor huddled with Steffy at the Cliff House, apprehensive about her plan to confront Sheila. But Steffy wouldn't be swayed from her scheme to make her nemesis confess to being responsible for the cataclysmic events of that fateful night.

A knock on the door signaled Sheila's arrival, and when Ms. Carter entered, she was surprised to see that Steffy and Ridge were there. Steffy even went so far as to thank her for coming, which raised Sheila's suspicions further. Taylor tried to smooth things over and keep the mood calm - a tall order, given the just-about-to-explode expression on Steffy's face. Sheila was sincere as she told the group, "I wish with my whole heart that what happened in the alley that night didn't happen." She then thanked them for being willing to accept her into the family.
