Kisi Disco Mai Jaye to Yeh Raat Aur Yeh Duri to Chura ke Dil Mera, this National Awardee is arguably one of the best actresses in India. No wonder, prefixes like ‘ravishing’ and ‘fabulous’ are constant fixtures around her name.

So when she stepped into our domain to unveil the Stardust powered Bharat Prerna Awards issue, we grabbed the opportunity to interview this multi-faceted woman. And though time strapped, she was kind enough to invite us to step into her swish Jaguar car for a heart to heart chat.

Here’s an excerpt of the candid conversation where the gorgeous Raveena Tandon speaks about her life, work and her upcoming film Maatr.

So what made Raveena choose this film Maatr? She avers, “I have been offered a lot of movies and on and off, I have done what I have felt like. But I was clear - I always wanted to do something which comes with a strong message. And hence Maatr was the clear choice.”

Incidentally, Raveena has been super selective in the roles she chose to do. The past year saw her in three songs for Bombay Velvet and Buddha Hoga Tera Baap. But other than that, she hasn’t done too many films though she was offered films by the dozen including full-fledged roles in films like Gulaab Gang, Kya Kool Hai Hum and Chashme Baddoor to name a few. But Raveena was clear that she would only like to play characters that she felt would do justice to her conscience.
