STARDUST INDIA

June 2016

The girl-next-door is one of the labels attached to this actress on screen. With her voice, she won hearts, she surprised everyone last year with her dance moves, and now, with her action chops, she simply mesmerized the audience. Though she comes across as bubbly and chirpy, Shraddha Kapoor is actually very calm, composed, sweet and petite. Amidst her busy schedule the actress got into conversation with Nawaz Kochra. Her smile a constant accessory, she spoke about her personal and professional life, mulling so much over her answers, living the adage ‘Think before you speak’ .

Shraddha Kapoor's Opens Up About Her Forever Crush!

With Baaghi, your conventional image of the sweet, bubbly, girl-next-door types got a total makeover. Were you skeptical about doing the film and Tiger Shroff overshadowing you as far as action skills were concerned?

It was Tiger Shroff all the way, there was no comparison. It was the first time I did action, and I did very little, you can’t compare it to what Tiger has done. So I must put this out there.

Working on Baaghi, was it difficult to match up to Tiger’s fitness levels?

What he does nobody can do. He is one of a kind for our industry. There hasn’t been any actor before who could do action of this level. It’s a very big thing for our industry to have an actor who does this.

How about matching up to his dance skills?

Extremely challenging.

Even after training for ABCD2, it was difficult?

Yes, of course. I tried my best to match steps with him. In ABCD2, Remo (D’souza) Sir taught me the A, B, C of dancing. That is something I will always keep close to my heart, he will always be my guru. But the things Tiger can do, the flexibility he has, has no comparison.

Did you have any training in martial arts before Baaghi? How did you train?

No. I had very little time to train for the film. Also, I didn’t have to train as much as Tiger, he did a crazy, advanced level of action. Whatever basic blocks I had to learn, I learnt in a few days.

What attracted you to this film, the director, the story or Tiger?

(Thinks) Firstly, I asked myself if I wanted to be a part of this film. I felt very right about the character and the film. I felt good with the idea of working with Sabbir (Khan) Sir, Tiger and Sajid (Nadiadwala) Sir for the first time. So I said a yes.
