Despite their 17-year age difference, the longtime “American Idol” icon, 46, has openly admired the pop star.

On July 22, her 29th birthday, the “Live with Kelly and Ryan” co-host shared a photo of himself with the Texas native and captioned the casual snapshot: “Celebrating the rarest of them all!”

One gaga fan gushed, “The two of you look GREAT as a couple. Hey Ryan, hint, hint!”

But according to a source close to the former Disney darling, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum doesn’t want to take a gamble on romance with Ryan and ruin what she considers a good friendship.
