New strains may prove DEADLIER!

DEADLY new COVID-19 mutations are more contagious and mutating faster, according to infectious disease experts — meaning deaths will skyrocket, vaccines will be less effective and lockdown misery is set to continue across America.

What’s more, the slow rollout of vaccines has meant the race against time to immunize as many people as possible is failing miserably.

Tragically, the American death toll stands at more than 425,000 lives, with up to 400 people a day dying from the disease nationwide.

On Jan. 19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported more than 1.6 million people were fully vaccinated, well short of the 20 million vaccinations initially promised before the end of 2020.

Efforts to combat the virus in the U.S. are being complicated by mutant strains flooding in from the U.K., Brazil, South Africa and Kenya. Scientists have found at least one new “super strain” of the virus and have warned that as it continues to mutate, it will make vaccines less effective.

Andrea Taylor, of Duke University’s Global Health Innovation Center in North Carolina, warned VOAnews. com: “The current slate of COVID vaccines work by targeting spike protein. However, the Brazil strain, for example, changes the shape of that protein and our current vaccines may not be as effective against this or future mutations.”
