How would you describe your personal style in relation to traditional Indian weaves, perhaps going back to your first experience with them as a model to the present?
“My love for Indian textiles, weaves, textures, colours goes back to my college years. Sarees are a natural extension of my personality. Sarees are great ambassadors... whenever an Indian lady wears a gorgeous saree overseas, she says ‘India’ in the most beautiful, understated way. During my modelling days, I was the perennial ‘Saree Girl’ on the ramp and in commercials.”
What appeals to you in particular about the Paithani? (It is a weave native to Maharashtra, and is marked by a particular vibrancy of colour and design?)
