Opposites attract for Meryl, 72, and sculptor Don, 75. Don is a man of few words – I'm the one who keeps up a constant stream of chatter in the house. He listens very patiently, she says. He also loves me as I am: eager and overactive, even at this age. It's no surprise that Meryl calls conversation the key to a successful marriage and also being able to accept that you're not always right. The couple share four children: Henry, 42, Mamie, 38, Grace, 35, and Louisa, 30.

He truly, to this day, to this minute, is just my favorite human, says Julia, 54, of her cameraman hubby, 53, who's the father of their kids, twins Finn and Hazel, both 17, and Henry, 14.
