Yes, it’s possible. Tanglin actress KAYLY LOH powered through the 8 DAYS Money Challenge to spend $50 in five days with some creativity and very generous friends.
The Moneymaker:
KAYLY LOH, 29, winner of talent quest The 5 Search in 2015. She plays hopeless romantic and ditzy office assistant Felicia in Ch 5 drama Tanglin. Two years ago, the former entrepreneur gave up a display advertising company that she’d been running for five years for her showbiz career. It wasn’t an easy decision, but Kayly hasn’t regretted it one bit. She says: “Being an actress has added a lot of colour to my life, and the experience I’ve gained is something I can’t buy. When it comes to finance, both jobs have rather unstable income. Some months we earn more, and some months we earn less (laughs). But I’ve learnt a lot about budgeting and forecasting in my business which I apply to my savings these days.”
HOME IS: A five-room Bedok flat where she lives with her parents, elder brother and two dogs.
HER RIDE IS: A Fiat Doblo van which she has owned for two years. “There’s a foldable sofa at the back for my passengers which can be taken out when I need to transport large items. It’s very practical and roomy,” she quips.
