French atelier S.T. Dupont showcases its decades of expertise in Japanese and Chinese lacquering techniques with two new complimentary pen collections in its line of large-bodied Line D writing instruments. The S.T. Dupont Starburst Blue collection of fountain pens and rollerballs features a brass-bodied pen adorned with layers of blue natural lacquer that is then treated with a pearlescent silver spray in lacquering processes that date back hundreds of years. The Sunburst Black collection utilizes the same techniques to create bodies of black with a spray of pearlescent gold. Featuring the Line D's new, bold blazon on the articulated clip and enhanced Dupont "D" logo on the cap crown, both pens have up to nine layers of hand-applied natural lacquer matched to palladium-plated trim (Starburst Blue) or gold-plated trim (Sunburst Black). The cartridge/converter-filling fountain pens have 14 karat gold S.T. Dupont nibs in extra-fine, fine, medium, or broad.
MSRP: $895 fountain pen, $750 rollerball st-dupont.com, colesoflondon.com
