For centuries, the temples of South India have inspired awe among discerning visitors, with their treasure trove of fantastical jewellery adorned by goddesses, who have been worshipped for decades.

The royals of South India were the first to adopt these designs. Then, about 60 years ago, Navarathan, who were jewellers to the royal households of Mysore, Travancore and the Nizams of Hyderabad, inspired by these pieces, set out to create their own versions of the designs. The ancient concept of nine gems called ’Navrathan’ in Sanskrit holds a timeless significance for Navrathan Jewellers which finds its highest inspiration in the cosmic confluence of the nine precious gems that is said to be symbolic of feminine energy, beauty, purity, wealth and success.
