DIGITISATION IN METROS
Construction Week
|May 2021
Schneider Electric and Construction Week organised a webinar that discussed the relevance of digitisation in today’s metro systems
-
Construction Week along with Schneider Electric India organised a webinar on March 26 - Creating Intelligent Metro with Digitisation. The idea was to capture how digitisation needs to make more headway into the budding metro rail sector in India.
Welcoming the panel and the audience was Bibhor Srivastava, country head, ITP Media Group (India), who pointed out that meeting timelines for such massive projects can be a bane and one can achieve much with technology.
Moderated by Praveen Goyal, Sr Vice-President Systems & PMC, Systra India, the panellists comprised Kumar Keshav, MD, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC); Jitendra Tyagi, MD, Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation (UKMRC); Mahendra Kumar, Director (E&RS), NCRTC; and Ashutosh Shukla, Director, Mobility Segment, Schneider Electric India.
Goyal began by speaking about the importance of using data and digitisation in today’s metro systems. If one does not embrace technology on a timely basis, chances of losing out in the long run are higher and India will continue to lag, however, modern systems we may install.
