Sustainability in facilities management can mean many different things. In general, top-tier FM service providers are striving to create and maintain conditions that find a balance between environmental, economic, social and operational requirements in the short and longer-term. We see more organisations in the UAE and wider GCC region making sustainability a part of their brands, utilising sustainability reports and, just has Emrill has done, creating a sustainability culture.
Over the last few years, we have seen a number of trends that demonstrate the sector’s increased commitment to delivering services more sustainably. For example, FM service providers have started switching to green-certified cleaning products. Clients have also shown a greater interest in understanding what products and chemicals are used in cleaning processes as they work towards their own green targets.
