LIGHTING UP THE FUTURE
Commercial Design
|January 2022
Going far beyond its basic functionalities, Parag Bhatnagar, Executive Vice President & SBU Head, Havells, elaborates on how digital lighting technologies is quickly becoming the largest participant in the arena of IoT and smart connected solutions, and the world of possibilities that it has unleashed for architects and designers to bring alive their ideas and visions
Companies today are not focused merely on sustainability alone, but also employee well-being. How is Havells, as a brand, supporting this vision?
Workspaces are going through a major transformation. A few years back, lighting design in office spaces was all about merely addressing the tasks and functions at hand. However, with the holistic changes incurring within the realm of modern office spaces, people are designing offices with the intent of enhancing user experience, which aligns with the culture of the organisation and the needs of its employees. And lighting plays a very integral role in delivering these demands. It has become the soul of a workplace.
Thus, to help architects and designers conceptualise and deliver designs and user experiences like never before Havells founded a platform called Divya Jyoti, one of its many such initiatives in this direction, where we interact and establish communication with the architects, interior decorators, consultants and other influencers, and understand what they want from their lighting design. Our team then accordingly restructures our portfolios to suit the requirement. Lighting as a design element also requires a lot of technical input to optimise the capital invested and also provide efficiency in terms of employee well-being and safety and other goals. Given this, we have a very large team of competent lighting designers who collaborate and partner with architects and help them in achieving their goals.
