A melting pot of history, culture, heritage and modernity

HISTORY
The majestic land of Japan is abundant in nature, from culture and heritage to history, the country is proud of its roots and wishes for visitors to truly imbibe every aspect of it. The expansive terrain, from north to south, features endless destinations that allow one to immerse themselves in the Japanese way of life. The difference in temperatures between the north and the south can be as much as 40 degrees (centigrade) in winter. The distinct differences in climatic conditions from season to season allow people to enjoy beautiful, natural vistas all year round.
HOKKAIDO
Hokkaido is an island with a cool and comfortable summer climate and snowfall in winter. It is a place outdoor enthusiasts love to visit because of its beautiful natural landscapes. In winter, ski resorts attract ski lovers from all over the world with their splendid powder snow. There are many restaurants in cities such as Sapporo and Hakodate where visitors can enjoy food and sweets made with fresh, local ingredients.
TOHOKU
A region consisting of six prefectures that occupy the northernmost part of Honshu Island (Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, and Fukushima). The Shirakami Sanchi Mountains that span Aomori and Akita Prefectures have been registered as a UNESCO world natural heritage site while Hiraizumi, a town in Iwate Prefecture, is a UNESCO world cultural heritage site. There are many places of scenic beauty in Tohoku, a region blessed with magnificent nature. There are also many hot spring areas and the colours, smells, and medicinal benefits of each hot spring vary in each area because the minerals in the water are different. The distinctive local dishes unique to each community are an additional attraction that Tohoku has to offer.
