Samir Kasliwal gives us a rare insight into decades of craftsmanship in bridal finery by The Gem Palace.

Jewellery has always been an integral part of Samir Kasliwal’s childhood. Growing up nine amongst generations of jewellers, Kasliwal’s usual day as a child revolved around playing with various gemstones, as his father insisted upon, familiarising him with them from an early age. “However, more than pinpointing a specific person that transmitted me this love, I think my love for jewellery was an inevitable consequence of my upbringing,” he explains. To put things into perspective, Kasliwal was to grow up to be the heir of an illustrious jewellery business spanning nine generations, the storied 109-year-old store of The Gem Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
