After an agonising wait, Dominic Barrett finally takes delivery of his brand new Dale 28

Before COVID-19 reared its ugly head, I had imagined taking delivery of my new Dale 28 Cunjic in late February last year and spending many months on the water getting to know her as thoroughly as possible. The travel restrictions we faced in Wales were, however, broader and more long-lasting than in other parts of the UK, with Cardiff in lockdown until July 6.
Nervous, anxious, excited and maybe even a little delirious at the prospect of tasting new-found freedom, I raced to Milford Haven at the crack of dawn on the day restrictions were eased in time to meet Mike Reynolds of Dale Sailing at 9am for the handover. There was no time to waste!
