When you start to convert vans as a hobby and your first four Transporters are T4s, then it makes perfect sense that your fifth van is a T5

- Steve 'autoholic' Edwards

Natural Progression

The story starts in a familiar way for many, Ryan Gooding was looking for a cheap van to use for work, he didn’t care what make it was, the price just had to be right. Whilst working in his plastering business he spotted a 1991 T4 on a driveway with a For Sale sign in the window, on further investigation he found the price was in his range and so he snapped it up. The van provided sterling service for about six months, before Ryan decided that he’d like his van to serve double duty as a work van and ‘day van’ when he headed to the beach, he is a keen surfer. Of course, one thing led to another, the van was converted, but eventually sold on. It was replaced by a van from 1998 and as Ryan seemed to enjoy the builds, that one was re-built and sold too. Examples from 2001 and 2002 soon followed the same path.
