Can Volkswagen's SUV Carve A Niche In A Segment Bursting At The Seams Already?

Can volkswagen’s new compact SUV carve a niche in a segment bursting at the seams already?

It’s interesting to see how Volkswagen has been able to use the expertise from the various brands it owns to beef up its own product arsenal, especially in new segments. For instance the all-new T-Roc, which is a compact SUV positioned as a more practical alternative to similarly priced hatchbacks and sedans. You could assume it is a hopped up hatchback, but it isn’t. It’s based on the same platform (Volkswagen Group’s ubiquitous MQB) as the Audi Q2. It’s almost as long as the Hyundai Creta but not as tall which should give you an idea of its dimensions. The design makes it look like a scaled down version of the new generation Touareg in fact. The hood has a slight bulge to add muscle, but the rest of the face is simple and sharp looking, typical of Volkswagen designs.

Don't tread lightly: Radial vs Cross Ply Tyres
If you don't know the difference between radial and cross ply tyres, this article is for you. So, if you want to refresh your memory. Because, besides tread patterns, understanding the difference is crucial. Each type has its strengths and weaknesses, and the choice largely depends on your riding style, the terrain you frequent, and the performance you expect from your bike.
