Megane Cup EDC is pick of the range so far
THE CURRENT-GEN Renault Megane RS is getting a bad rap. Unfairly.
Many reviewers say it’s not as engaging as the previous Megane, but most buyers won’t care. So I’m judging the RS280 Cup EDC, the most focused version (short of Trophy models), on its own merits. And it’s good.
The styling is elegantly aggressive, with pumped guards and relatively subtle features like vents behind the wheel arches and a deep diffuser.
Inside, unfortunately, it’s a different story. As with other Megane RS280 models we’ve driven, the materials feel a little cheap and the centre console layout is frustrating – the touchscreen feels like using a 10-year-old iPad and cruise control sits near your left elbow.
