Romancing On A Truck

In the 1964 hit movie, ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’, by Rajshri Production, the classic Tata 1210 has played an important role in romancing the dashing hunk Shammi Kapoor and beautiful Sharmila Tagore.

Wealthy and pampered, Kapoor drives down to their bungalow in the Kashmir valley in an attempt to escape his mother’s attempt to get him married. She is annoyed by his behaviour, having announced a hefty bonus to the workers of the plant his father built. He relents despite finding out that the manager has turned their bungalow into a hotel in their absence. The manager doesn’t allow him to stay. Kapoor and the manager get into an agreement where the manager tells all those around that Kapoor is a driver even though he may think of himself as the owner. During his stay, Kapoor stumbles across a beautiful Kashmiri girl selling flowers – played by Sharmila Tagore. He buys flowers from her at a much higher price than she sells them for.
