We’ve spent a fair bit of time with the Velar here at TopGear India. We’ve gone on cross-country jaunts to inhospitable terrain and even managed to nearly drown the car at one of Mumbai’s neighbouring beaches. After all that, we weren’t really expecting any favourable calls from the JLR folks anytime soon. So imagine our surprise when they told us that they wanted us to drive another iteration of the beautiful Velar.

Turns out, the Velar with the 2.0-litre petrol (P250) in R-Dynamic SE guise was one we hadn’t driven before.
