FIRSTDRIVE V8 engine is the star of red-hot coupé-SUV
A TALL, mid-sized coupé-SUV with super car levels of performance would appear to be the answer to a question not many people are asking. But Mercedes is never afraid to fill a niche segment, so meet the Mercedes- AMG GLC63S 4MATIC Coupé, to give the new model its full name.
Under the skin it gets the full AMG treatment, so it’s powered by the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 unit developing 503bhp and 700Nm of torque. The engine is capable of more, but it feels the right amount in the GLC63S Coupé. As such, the quoted 3.8-second 0-62mph sprint time feels easily achievable.
