Approaching the Christmas season in 1986, at age 16, I was in a local shopping mall when I first saw a gentleman airbrushing. For the remainder of the holiday season my weekends were spent observing this artist, never speaking to him so as to not interrupt. The next two years were the same: watching in awe for 20 hrs each weekend for 3 months. I was hooked! My parents gave me a Paasche VL airbrush kit in 1988 and the following Autumn I was in business.

Growing up in a small community in Pinnacle, NC, the foundation of boardwalk style airbrushing led me along many adventures in my career. The first time I saw anyone pinstriping was in 1996 or ‘97 in Atlantic City, NJ at a signage trade show. The pinstripe artists were like a big family, laughing, painting and creating amazing art. Mt. J, Tramp Warner, DeWayne Connot were a few of the artists in attendance. It would be roughly another 20 years before I would have the opportunity to see an artist pinstriping.
