With the light levels falling, sunset is the ideal time to get creative with slow shutter speeds, and master another essential skill in the process

As the sun sets, why not head to the coast to experiment with shutter speeds and learn how they influence the way in which moving subjects are recorded? To make full use of the range of shutter speeds available, you’ll need a tripod to hold your camera steady, and ideally a cable release to eliminate any camera shake caused by moving the camera during the exposure (although you can also use your camera’s self-timer).
