This fashion designer couple’s home in Ahmedabad, by Modo Designs and Open Spaces Design Studio, overcomes its tightness of plot with smartness of design

FASHION designers Shyamal and Bhumika’s Ahemdabad house looks unassuming and understated, on an independent plot in a residential society. Designed by Modo Designs and Open Spaces Design Studio, with interiors by Saptak Patel, the house has four levels, including a basement.

Constructed on an open, barren piece of land, the home presented one major challenge to the designers - to accommodate multiple requirements in a tight space. The site area was small, which resulted in the house being designed vertically. The corner plot has roads and a common plot on its sides.
