JAQUAR CONFAB IN CHANDIGARH A CLASSY SOJOURN

Given that the brand, that leads the lighting and bathroom products market in India, acutely focuses on sustainable and smart design solutions, it originally conceptualised this forum with an aim to reflect upon the ‘Best practices for smart, high-performance Indian buildings’. Since its origin in 2018, the platform has bought together some of India’s best minds in architecture and design to share their insights on this topic.

Chandigarh, being one of India’s foremost planned cities and designed by the masters themselves, provided a thought-provoking segue into understanding how architects can contribute towards building sustainable cities with creative and interactive spaces.

Eminent members from the design, real estate and construction fraternities were invited for a fun and eventful evening that also set the stage for informal discussions on the various challenges and issues that the industry is currently facing on this unique knowledge-sharing platform.

The crush of designers included Dipen and Shilpa Gada, Rahul Dalvi, Swapnil Dalvi, Hitesh and Neha Modi, Chirag and Manisha Shah, Minesh and Krishna Shah, Ragnesh Kalathia, and Dharmesh and Archanben Patel from Vadodara; Sanjay Joshi, Manish and Urvi Choksi, Vaishali and Vijay Chauhan, and Snehal and Saloni Shah from Surat; Pratap and Mrunalini Jadhav from Pune; and Pratap and Seema Naik from Goa.

MUSING MUSEUMS

A few months back, when I was in Budapest, I walked into a building that left me awestruck. The inquisitive me went on to explore, and I discovered that it was a museum with pixels on the exterior and that the curved structure of the building dipped underground to form the interiors, even as the garden I was walking on was the green roof of the building that interjected at street level! Woah! I quickly took some pictures and went on to research this building, and the more I read about it, the more I fell in love with it. And then of course I had to share it with you all!
