Vegetable growers everywhere seem to think it a crime not to practise crop rotation.

It’s a subject that even city dwellers know about and many home gardeners will bring it up when talking about vegetables. In my experience, they are often more concerned about it than plant varieties or growing practices.
Generally, the idea of crop rotation is to follow a leaf crop with a root crop and then a legume. The greater the diversity, the better. I have come across farmers who would rather forego planting the crop they prefer than plant it on the same land as they did the previous season.

You can formulate effective crop rotations for your specific requirements only if you fully understand the concept of crop rotation.
