<p>El abuso del plástico y los residuos que provoca están generando un grave problema en la naturaleza, en especial en el mundo marino. Hemos inventado envases para vestir incluso alimentos que no lo necesitan. Diferentes movimientos ciudadanos y oenegés intentan concienciarnos sobre el <strong>exceso de embalaje de frutas y verduras,</strong> mientras que los defensores de este material elástico destacan sus bondades y piden que no se lo demonice por el mal uso que se hace de él.</p>

Cocos plastificados, plátanos sin piel guardados en una bandeja de poliestireno, fresas envueltas en una red plástica una a una, fruta con certificado ecológico plastificada, envases llenos a dos tercios o menos para aparentar más cantidad de la que traen… Todos podemos encontrar ejemplos de este empaquetado excesivo al hacer nuestras compras cotidianas. Son cada vez más las voces que reclaman acabar con esta práctica; y las redes sociales se han convertido en el escaparate perfecto para ello. Entre los tuiteros implicados en esta movilización se encuentra Isabel Vicente, bibliotecaria en la Universidad de Salamanca e impulsora del movimiento #DesnudaLaFruta: “Siempre me ha molestado ver productos envasados que no lo necesitan. Puede que las frutas y verduras sean los ejemplos más claros. Por eso, hace unos meses planteé en un grupo de Facebook hacer algo para denunciarlo. — Y añade—: #DesnudaLaFruta apareció gracias a la colaboración de mucha gente que se animó a declarar la guerra a los productos frescos plastificados. La etiqueta se ha usado mucho en Latinoamérica e incluso se ha traducido al italiano y al inglés”.
La iniciativa de Isabel Vicente, también autora del blog La hipótesis Gaia –donde escribe sobre el impacto del uso excesivo del plástico–, no es ni mucho menos la única. En internet encontramos iniciativas similares en todo el mundo, con etiquetas como #BreakFr
