Together and ‘greener’ Sustainability is the future. Much is being said about it these days. The fact is that the planet’s resources are beginning to run out and the need to adopt an ecological and healthy model has become a growing concern for human beings. As such, having a sustainable lifestyle is much more than consuming responsibly. In the projects we present in this issue of TRENDS we took care to select themes featuring ecology. We bring you a variety of architectural and interior design works where environmental responsibility is the guiding principle. We talk about fashion, passive houses; stability and comfort that can be achieved through greener strategies; brands that commit to 100% sustainable ranges; personalities that have carved out striking stories, such as architect Miguel Câncio Martins – with a remarkable national and international career -; acclaimed interior designer Joana and her daughter Marta Aranha; dynamic Paulo Mateus Pinto, CEO of La Redoute in Portugal; and star Marina Ruy Barbosa, actress, model and businesswoman, who created the brand Ginger, focused on respect for nature. All of them, through their projects, reveal a sincere concern for sustainability and social responsibility. An effort that is only possible if together, and with good ecological and conscious practices, we look to the future with poise and bear in mind that the planet deserves all our care and respect.
