Small hatchbacks seem to be the flavor of this month as we enter June 2015. The Maruti Celerio was India’s most affordable automatic car when it was launched, and now it could just be the most fuel efficient. We have an exclusive first drive of the brand new Celerio diesel, which uses Maruti’s first ever in-house-developed diesel engine. Speaking of India’s most affordable automatic, that title now belongs to the Nano. Tata has updated the car with an opening hatch, a facelift, and yes, an AMT gearbox. We’ve even pit it against the Alto K10 AMT to see which one makes the better city car. Speaking of affordable, Renault has unveiled the Kwid – a rugged looking hatchback that has its eyes set squarely on the budget segment. We’ve also driven a couple of updated models like the Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Elantra. That’s not all; we’ve pit the Toyota Camry Hybrid against the Skoda Superb diesel, and the Mahindra Scorpio against the updated Safari Storme.
