In this issue

"Norm Norton tackles the rather complex plumbing on his rebuilt Modelworks 5 inch gauge Britannia Class 7 locomotive. Rhys Owen reveals the workings of displacement lubricators and their close relatives, hydrostatic lubricators before going on to discuss the operation of the mechanical lubricator. David Fulton presents a design for a steam regulator with a finely graduated opening and a positive shut-off. Adrian Garner engraves the sidereal and outer chapter rings for his astronomical bracket clock and cuts the teeth on the sidereal wheel. Doug Hewson makes the top covers for his 5 inch gauge GWR pannier tank and goes into detail with the making of the tank fillers. Jason Ballamy moves on to the eccentric and eccentric strap for his Thompstone mill engine, then makes the valve, valve rod and guide. Terence Holland equips his 5 inch gauge 0-6-0 Barclay well tank with a set of drain cocks and a crosshead pump. Jacques Maurel makes the punches for his rotary broach and provides some important information about the sizes of pre-drilled holes. Peter Seymour-Howell, having completed the tender for his 5 inch gauge Flying Scotsman locomotive, makes a start on the locomotive itself by making the front bogie."
