VJ Day service was 'huge success'

FAMILIES of Far East Prisoners of War from Plymouth marked the end of World War Two with a moving ceremony on the 80th anniversary of VJ Day on Friday.

Candles were carried down the aisle in the Minster Church of St Andrew during a service of remembrance, before a march to the Crowne Plaza Hotel where a salute was held.
Entertainment was then put on at the hotel, with 1940s-themed live music from Timeless, The Hummingbirds, Ocean City Sounds and Alison Mayna.
