ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE EVENT HELD IN DEVONPORT

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

Robots give a glimpse of amazing AI future

PLYMOUTH has been given a glimpse into the future, where robot dogs and robot people carry out daily tasks and artificial intelligence (AI) is used to help referee football games.

Dozens of people attended the South West's first major Al event, LifeIn AI, at Devonport Market Hall yesterday.

The showcase was dubbed as a chance to "experience the future first hand", with keynote talks, immersive dome shows and hands-on workshops led by industry experts exploring the cutting-edge technology being developed right here in Devon and Cornwall. And there were lots of exciting tech to look at during the free event, especially arranged for the Easter school holidays to entice families to attend.
