BEN STANWAY has gone from being the "baby" of Firhill to mixing it with the big Bhoys - and is determined doing so for club helps open the door for country.

The 20-year-old, left, has become a stalwart in Partick Thistle's midfield going into Sunday's Premier Sports Cup quarterfinal with Celtic.

He has started the last five games - four wins and a draw - and was voted Jags' player of the month by the fans, but had to stay at home during the last international break.

Tsoanelo Letsosa and Ben McPherson were included in the Scotland Under-21s squad, but Partick boss Mark Wilson labelled Stanway's omission "crazy". Four more Euro qualifiers beckon in 2025 - two in under a month - and Stanway said: "It's one of my targets this year.
