GUNNERS HAD NO CONCERNS AT SLOW START

GOING 10-0 down early on in a game is not usually the recipe for success - but Edinburgh fullback Harry Paterson reckons that worked a treat for his side on Sunday as they went on to beat Toulon 33-20 in the Champions Cup.

The French club have won the tournament three times and they showed their class as they raced in that early lead at the Hive.

But Edinburgh refused to panic and their patience paid off as they finished the stronger team.

Scotland star Paterson said: “It was a huge win. It was a slow start but I think we needed that to get going.

“And then we knew we had belief from there.

“We targeted ball-in-play time - we tried to keep the ball on the pitch a bit more and tire them out a bit.

“We stuck to the strategy - and it worked.”

Edinburgh's next match in Pool 2 of the cup is on Sunday away to another French club, Castres.
