COUNCIL LEADER IAIN NICOLSON

- BY RENFREWSHIRE

Results day is always a mixture of emotions for our young people, their parents and carers, as well as our school staff who work hard throughout the year to prepare them and want them all to succeed.

It's a significant milestone regarding options and future careers.

I was delighted to see such positive results for Renfrewshire as it is testament to the work our children’s services teams put in all year and it's great to see their dedication to our young people rewarded.

This year, Renfrewshire's results show an increase in National 4 awards by fourth-year pupils, National 5 awards by fourth and fifth-year pupils, and Higher awards by fifth and sixth-year pupils which is fantastic.

We have also seen our best-ever performance in school leavers going into positive destinations which is incredibly important as pupils move into the next stage of their lives.
