More U-turns from Chancellor

Well at last we have had it. Yes, last week we eventually got the Westminster udget that we were promised.

Budget delivered Chancellor Rachel Reeves

Well, actually it was delayed which isn't useful for us in Scotland as this means we have less time to finalise our budget, especially with the election next year.

This crushes the time available to prepare, present and vote through a budget. But hey, no consultation with Scotland on what a delayed budget at Westminster means for us is par for the course.

Some of us may have been getting déjà vu with the announcements that were made. It seems we had been drip fed the announcements for months.

We even had the strange sight of an 8am press conference with the Chancellor stating that tax rises were coming, only for a wee U-turn again before the announcement, then another handbrake turn as the income tax thresholds were frozen for another three years, well into the next decade.
