Parliament backs 2 panels for charter bill
Bangkok Post

Second reading to carry on today
Parliament yesterday voted to approve the proposed setting up of a 35-member constitution drafting committee (CDC) and the 35-member public participation committee, on the first day of the second reading of the charter amendment bill.
The second reading will continue today in an extraordinary session before parliament reconvenes tomorrow.
People's Party (PP) list-MP Nattawut Buapratum, chair of the charter amendment committee, said the panel's proposals were in accordance with the amendment's principles and a key Constitutional Court ruling.
MPs and senators spent about three hours debating Section 4 which outlines the formation of the two bodies that would be selected using the same method known as the "20 pick 1" formula.
