You know that thing they say about buses – how you wait for ages and then they all come at once? Well, I seem to be succumbing to the same thing, but with trainers. No, I’m not talking footwear. I mean those highly enthusiastic sports people who shout a lot.

For years, I had no trainer and now, suddenly, I have two. Which really begs the question – do you even want one person in your life who repeatedly makes you squat in an ungainly fashion, when secretly you’d far rather remain peacefully undisturbed and horizontal under a duvet?
