Do we really need to have another budget?
AS I write this, on Wednesday, 20 August, we are advised that inflation has risen to 3.8%, which is the highest it has been since January 2024. The cost of food continues, in my experience, rising continuously, and we haven't got to winter yet, when no doubt food prices will rise due to the poor summer lack of rain preventing growth. Fuel prices are once again steadily rising, yet that wasn't mentioned by the media as one of the reasons for the latest growth figure.
