Changing Interface

Commercial spaces are continually evolving with the demand for better products and technological advancements. For a smooth management of the office and utmost user satisfaction, a lot of things are taken into consideration – acoustics, lighting, material specifications, media integration, layouts and areas, to name a few. A successful office space should not only be aesthetically sound but should also handle all its facilities without hassle. Seating systems and office furniture is, hence, a crucial aspect of design, which directly affects both these factors.

In a recently authored article titled ‘What’s your personality at work?’, Praveen Rawal, MD of Steelcase India and Southeast Asia, mentions, “Some personalities at work are always perceived as strong leaders. They are actively engaged, gregarious and assertive. On the other hand, some are always viewed as quiet, shy, or even poor collaborators, who function best by being more on their own or in low-key environments. There are few others who prefer to be forthright on certain occasions and be secretive at times. Although a variety of personalities at the office can cause an occasional challenge, designing a progressive workplace will help cater to different personality types, leading to a more balanced work environment. Which is why organisations need to start looking at designing a work environment that suits different personality types to boost productivity and engagement.”
