Emraan Hashmi was at Taj Bengal to unveil his book, The Kiss of Life. At the book launch event organised by Starmark bookstore, he clearly bowled over the audience of 300-odd women with his charm and candour.
In this book, Emraan lays bare his life with all its ups and downs. He speaks about his filmi family connections, his struggling days and his acting career, but the highlight of the book is the ordeal he underwent when his four-year-old son Ayaan was diagnosed with cancer. His life suddenly turned topsy turvy and his erstwhile dream run was shattered.
He takes the reader along with him as he embarks on the traumatic journey of having to see his toddler undergo a major operation, innumerable tests, painful chemotherapy sessions, and even shifting to freezing Canada for a part of the treatment, later having to leave his sick child and wife back in Canada to resume shoot schedules. With the details of the diagnosis and the tests, it is a gripping saga, as you begin to share with him his fears and anxieties, hopes and disappointments.
