Flynn 'gutted' for Robins after last-gasp heartache
September 01, 2025
|Western Daily Press
MICHAEL Flynn admitted that he was “gutted” for his Cheltenham Town players after they were denied a first win of the Sky Bet League Two campaign by a stoppage-time equaliser at Salford on Friday night.
The Robins, who had lost all five of their fourth-tier matches prior to Friday night, took a 56th-minute lead through George Miller, but Kadeem Harris snatched a leveller at the death.
Flynn said afterwards: “I'm gutted for the boys because they put in a hell of a shift against a very good Salford team.
“I have never won here, so while I probably shouldn't have expected too much, I am so proud of them and the shift they put in.
“If George (Miller) puts that chance away, which he should, 2-0, that would have been three points.
“(The equaliser) it’s the only time we switched off all night. Joe (Day) made a great save in the first half, but we switched off right at the end and that’s the frustrating thing.
