Valentine’s Day demand more than doubled for the Philippine unit of Maxim, reflecting how on-demand delivery platforms are becoming central to last-minute gifting and celebration logistics.

The ride-hailing and courier service said orders on Feb. 14 were over twice the volume recorded the previous day, driven by customers using couriers to send flowers, chocolates, cakes and prepared meals.

The company also logged a spike in personalized deliveries, including handwritten letters, plush toys and engagement rings, reflecting a shift toward app-based fulfillment of intimate purchases.
