Not that simple

Earlier, Senator Robin Padilla earned the ire of many sectors after calling today's youths weak after a rise in suicide cases involving young people.

"Ang mga bata po ngayon, sad to say, huwag kayong magagalit sakin, nako maraming batang magagalit siguro pero pasensya na kayo, you are weak. Hindi kayo katulad nung panahon namin na hindi kami iyakin. Natuto kami, natuto kami sa kalsada, natuto kami na huwag umupo, umiyak," Padilla said.

He blamed this alleged weakness on too much and too early exposure to social media.

He has since apologized for his statement and still insists there should be no social media for children 16 years old and below. He isn't totally wrong, but he isn't totally right, either; it's more than just social media.
