We sometimes forget how fortunate we are to live in this country with its incredible wildlife and bewitching wilderness. This is what brings hunters and tourists from all over the globe back to the African continent time and again. Sonja Harmse of Muvhimi Buffalo Safaris aptly captures this sentiment with a quote by an award-winning journalist, author and Britain’s foremost writer on African wildlife safaris: “Everything in Africa bites, but the safari bug is worst of all.” In her article “Hunting to create a lasting impact” she stresses how important it is for hunting outfitters to take responsibility for their industry and carefully consider their actions as caretakers of the environment. Now, there is some food for thought!
