Sedaj je že znano, da se prihodnji Pokal Amerike ne bo več odvijal s hitrimi in dragimi katamarani na krilcih. Deed of gift daje zmagovalcu možnost postavitve novih okvirjev in tako so se Novozelandci odločili, da spremenijo format 36. Pokala Amerike. Nova pravila bodo vsaj po do sedaj znanih podatkih predvidevala hitre enotrupce, angažiranih bo več jadralcev, razvoj jadranja pa bo šel v neko drugo smer. Po prepričanju nekaterih vplivnih mož v jadranju naj bi se zaradi te odločitve razvoj jadranja močno zavrl. Ali bo temu res tako, bomo sodili čez kakšno leto. Za zdaj lahko le ugibamo, kam bo jadranje zaplulo in koliko bo še zanimivo za gledalce po videnem zadnjem Pokalu Amerike. Očitno kolesarji ne bodo več tako iskani, da bi resno ogrozili delo jadralcev.
