K pisanju o slovenskem morju me je spodbudilo kar nekaj dogodkov, ki so se zgodili v bližnji preteklosti. Nesreče na trgovskih ladjah nekoč naše Splošne plovbe, praznovanje 60-letnice Luke Koper, praznovanje 70. obletnice Pomorske šole in intervju z Brunom Volpijem Lisjakom, ki si ga lahko preberete v nadaljevanju revije. Aha, da ne pozabim, tudi zaprtje obmorske ceste med Koprom in Izolo ter nastanek tako najdaljšega »lungomara« v Sloveniji je bil nekakšen povod za razmislek o morski identiteti. V bistvu pa je motiv postala želja, da bi izzvala povod za kakšno dejavnost, morda spodbudo in zavedanje, da moramo nekaj sami storiti, da ohranimo lastno pomorsko identiteto.
