While incorporating ‘open plan’ in the office space for an IT firm in Sri Lanka, architect Tilak Samarawickrema has merged the features of the concept with the requirements of changing the monotony in the working atmosphere. Thus, a striking feature is the vibrant entrance lobby, decorated with a reinterpretation of one of the architect’s renowned tapestries.
The design of a small, exquisite boutique hotel in Ulapane, Gampola, was dictated by nature, with the architect’s ingenuity transforming landscape elements into the main spaces.
The challenge for the architect was to create a house for the client Janaka and Rasika Fonseka, on a land in a highly residential area that had limited views to the outside.
